i am sure they are .. most of the guages are black/white scale .. you do get colored lights ..but it is written on the panel what they are for...flying a plane is not like driving a car.. not like your going to see a lot of signs . . pilots are in there environment and often see very little else other than a few lights on a run way

Is trigonometry used by commercial pilots?

I think the best example of routine use of trigonometry by pilots is to calculate winds aloft. The data a pilot has on hand is his compass heading and his airspeed and his altitude and his true bearing based upon passing landmarks on the ground. From this data he can calculate the wind direction and velocity he is witnessing at his location and altitude. Normally he would use a flight computer called an E6B which is a circular slide rule of sorts. The E6B is easier to handle in turbulence than a pocket calculator. I proved this to myself many years ago when I added a program to a programmable pocket calculator to do the computation. It was hard to improve upon the time-tested E6B

History and Pilots

The idea for Wefarm was born in 2010 out of a perceived need for greater access to information for the 500 million smallholder farmers in developing countries. Only approximately 10% of smallholder farmers have any access to the internet but it is thought that around 90% have access to basic mobile 'feature' phones. Kenny Ewan, CEO of Wefarm, and Claire Rhodes, General Manager of the Cafdirect Producers Foundation (CPF), developed the idea for Wefarm together in 2010 as a project for CPF, a UK-registered charity that works with 280,000 smallholder tea, coffee and cocoa farmers and their organisations on innovative, community driven projects. They developed Wefarm together as a peer-to-peer knowledge sharing platform, giving smallholder farmers a way to access information from other farmers around the world through basic mobile phones and SMS. Wefarm was piloted, tested and developed over 2011 and 2012 as a CPF project with funding from the Nominet Trust. This initial prototype of the system was tested in partnership with smallholder farming organisations in Peru, Kenya and Tanzania with successful proof of concept achieved - a real-time, multilingual knowledge sharing by farmers in 3 countries with no access to internet. In 2012 Wefarm was won the Knight News Challenge, run by the Knight Foundation, providing support to build a more robust, scalable version of the proof of concept system. In 2014 Wefarm was an overall winner of the Google Impact Challenge, providing funding to launch Wefarm in several different countries around the world and take it to scale. In October 2018 Wefarm announced it has reached over 1.1 million users across Kenya and Uganda, with plans to expand into the rest of Africa in 2019, beginning with Tanzania.

Is being a pilot in U.S.A gamble?

Yes, being a pilot is a gamble. Just like driving a car, going shopping, or taking a bath. The only thing in life that is a sure shot is death. Like I've said before, if you want job security be a mortician. Any career field you enter into there is going to be competition. People who have entered into the field enjoy something about it and are constantly bettering themselves to get that better position. So if you do not like the career enough to be driven to do your best and want a job that allows you to sit on the sidelines and have great salaries and job opportunities handed to you, you are going really disappointed to learn the world does not work this way. As for "institution fee that goes up to 1 million" I have no idea where you are looking. You need to do better research, because there are flight programs that are affordable - even with offering a degree. I think you have gotten confused about a degree in Aviation. A degree in aviation or anything in the aviation field will not make a company drool over the prospect of hiring you. Provided you have the same qualifications as everyone else applying to that position it only means you attended a school and obtained a degree in that field of study - Aviation. People will advise you to obtain a degree in some other field as a back up plan - for if nothing else one of the reasons you are even concerned about (it would have to be quite the injury to make you so disabled you could not perform any job in the aviation field). The biggest reason people will advise you to obtain a degree in something other than aviation is is cases of the economy being in the state it is and pilot jobs are hard to find. In which case you can put your degree in (insert your degree here) to work for you and get a job doing that until you are able to find a job flying once again. Going to school to obtain a degree in something other than aviation while pursuing your flying licenses is like patting your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time - if you can not do it then just go after an aviation degree and quit whinning. Furthermore if you have to constantly come to Y!A for reassurance find a different field. Pilots are close knit and always help each other out, but they wo not hold your hand and do it for you. Only you can decide your future, hitch up your pants, take a deep breath, and make a decision for yourself.
