How to Care for Curly Hair? (Products, Techniques, Etc.)?

I too have curly hair and it has a tendency to be somewhat at the frizzy aspect. I had been making use of Garnier Sleek and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner and it really works high-quality! It is helping get rid of the frizz. I additionally like to make use of the Sleek and Shine Oil. It's an anti frizz serum and is super! Hope this is helping!

How to Care for Curly Hair? (Products, Techniques, Etc.)? 1

1. Carol's Daughter vs. Miss Jessie's hair products what are your opinions on either?

I would say none if your trying to moisturize your hair but from what I've researched I will break down each one as I can Carol's daughter: I've heard a few products work for type 4 hair especially the hair milk but from what I've also heard their quality of ingredients are quite low since it's gone commercial. (The hair milk great for hair nourishment) Komaza: Have not heard much but from what I've heard the leave-in conditioner is great. Kinky curly: I've heard great things on the Curling Custard but not Knot Today. Do not get me wrong it works but for shoulder length kinky hair it will only last 3-4 detangling session while the Custard while last so much longer than that so you will have to use several bottles to accompany the Custard. (These two are great for curl definition.) Miss Jessie: Meh. I've heard that for the price the ingredients are terrible. I've heard many type 4's even 4a say their products do not go well with their hair. If you were to buy anything I would say the Baby Butter Crem. Understand that these products go well with type 3 hair because the founder have type 3 hair and they really cater to type 3 hair despite their claims. (The Baby butter crem is great for nourishing hair) Hopefully that helped

2. What are some really good at home hair products?

I do not use much for my hair, but maybe it's because it's so short right now, but if I did not use these products then I would have a frizzy, dry afro. I just use BioInfusion Olive Oil Hydrating Creme (exclusive to Walgreens). But, this alone is not enough to keep my hair moisturized so I use pure olive oil to seal in the creme for all day moisture. You do not need pure olive oil (it is heavy) you can use extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), coconut oil, jojoba oil, grapeseed oil or any other natural oil to seal in the moisture. I usually condition wash (co-wash); instead of using shampoo I use conditioner. I use Dove intense moisture condition and I deep conditioner with BioInfusion Olive Oil DC. I also use just water to hydrate my hair and a bit of jojoba oil to seal it in when I do not need to go anywhere. I do use a clarifying shampoo about 1-2 times a month to get ride of the build-up from the co-washes. I've heard people raving about Panteen's natural and relaxed line of products, but I've never tried it. There are many natural product lines to choose from if that's what you want, but a majority can only be found online and they are expensive. I am going to keep using the Dove intense moisture conditioner but I am always on the lookout for something better as far as other products go. Unfortunately, you just have to try different products to find something your hair likes. Edited to add: Also, a lot of the natural oils and butters might be hard to find locally, I've had to buy them online. You can go into any grocery store and look in the cooking isle for olive and grapeseed oil and other oils that you can use for your hair. I had to find my shea butter at a small Jamaican boutique, or you can look for it at an African shop. I just bought mango butter and used it only once, but my hair was as soft as it's ever been. You can also mix natural oils together or with your other products. For instance, I mix a few drops of jojoba oil in my conditioner, deep conditioner, and moisturizer for extra moisture. Another one of my favorite products is Jamaican Mango and Lime Shea Butter Conditioning and Shine. I love using this because it does a good job of conditioning my hair. Also, try regular curl activator. It will give your hair all day moisture and keep your curls defined. There are many brands of curl activator to choose from and many types such as gel, spray-in, and cream. I bought Hawaiian Silky Curl Activator (cream) and it has a nice sweet smell to it.
