Exclusion Discourage cockroaches from entering the home by sealing any cracks of 1/8 in or more in the foundation and exterior walls. Check the seal or caulking around air conditioning unit, windows, doors, pipes or other openings into the home. Inside the home eliminate all possible hiding areas and food sources. Repair cracks and holes in floors, walls and ceilings. Seal openings around plumbing fixtures, furnace flues, electrical outlets, windowsills and walls, and along baseboards and ceiling moldings. Leaky water faucets and pipes should be repaired. Thresholds on doors should be as tight as possible and cracks in porches and stoops should be sealed Eliminate Hiding Places Paper, Cardboard, lumber, firewood and other debris next to the home provide excellent refuge for several cockroach species. Keep yard trash and stacks of firewood away from the home or garage to minimize the chance of cockroach invasion
1. Must my new air conditioning unit be 3 feet from the wall (or positioned backward)?
According to Trane installation instructions, the technician is correct. They do require 3' of clear space in front of the control box.As for why the technician chose this orientation, I can only speculate. It looks to me like the access panel is on the corner of the unit, which would mean there has to be 3' clear space at the corner. Obviously the technician could not install the unit in these two orientations.Since then the building would encroach upon the clear space required. This only left him with two choices. Given these two choices, I would agree that the technician made the best choice. If the unit would have been installed in the other orientation, it would have potentially left the line sets in the path of folks moving through the gated area at the corner of the building. In the end.
2. Why is my air conditioning unit making a very loud buzzing sound?
Why do not you move to Alaska, you are cheap. Or suffer the heat. I know you prefer that than spent a cent from you pocket.

It's condensation. An A/C unit will produce a lot of it when it's hot outside, that is normal. However, the drain line for the condensation may be stopped up causing it to run out other places. Being it's outside, should not hurt anything.

Turn unit off until the ice melts. In the meantime, make sure all dampers are open and that your registers (and returns) are open and free of obstructions. We have experienced similar at our house. Problem diagnosed as insufficient air flow inside the ducts in the house - in other words, your HVAC system is too small for your house. If your filters were very dirty for a long time, perhaps you need to get someone to clean the ducts
5. why does my central air conditioning unit start to blow hot air after it has been blowing cold?
#2 is right but it can also be bad airflow on the outdoor unit caused by dirt or cottonwood fuzz, you can clean it with a hose but do not use to much pressure you might bend the fins. #1 you do not replace freon!
6. How much would it cost to replace and air conditioning unit in a 1,152 sq ft home?
First check the compressor's for info on the size, make,model,and btu's. Sense you all ready know the sq. footage and are not able to get the info. Ask a plumbing/heating company or go to Lowe's,Home Depot,etc. They will be able to tell you all that is needed and the cost

Your drain lines are stopped up Clean the pan and get a can of compressed air and blow out the lines
8. How to get de-greaser smell out of air conditioning unit?
this might sound strange but get a glass of water and leave it in the room your working in. the water takes in the smell. or you could use an orange. which is the best de-greaser.
