The insert can be any size less than 66x90, but will slide around and bunch up if it is too much smaller. Find the largest one you can that is less than 66x90. While it may not lay flat, you can actually stuff an 76x100 into the cover, but it, too, may bunch up.

5. Can I get a duvet cover without a duvet?
When I put the cover on my duvet, I make sure I hold the corner of the cover from the outside, reach in and pinch the corner of the duvet and pull it in. I then do this same thing with the other 4 corners. The I button the cover closed. The key I believe is to be certain that every corner is pulled all the way out. I have never had bunching issues. I suppose another possibility is to get a second person to pull the corners tight once you have done this. and do sort of a - tug of war - pulling it out. I have a king size duvet and cover. 7. What kind of Fabric do I use for a duvet cover?
Plain cotton fabric will breath well and wash endlessly. The easiest trick is to buy two sheets and sew 3 1/2 sides then add velco dots on the unsewn portion for closure. Or a zipper or attach fabric ties. You can also use flannel sheets/fabric for one or both sides depending on the time of year. A higher thread count (or thicker) cotton will last longer, will get softer and softer and is less likely to pill. I do not like polyester blends, but that's just me. If you are looking at fabric websites, note the width of the fabric, they can vary. It's sort of ugly to have to put a seam up the middle of the duvet if the fabric is not wide enough.

Depending on who you ask, the three are synonymous. A comforter and a duvet are similar in that they are both filled blankets, with down, cotton or whatever. With that one, using it as the edges of the cover would look nice. You could use the plain color for the middle of the cover (I suggest white or a very light beige) and then have the expensive one on the edges to make it look nice, but not too busy
